Still Waiting
25 April 2014
I don't know what got into me but I composed a song last night... After reading an article online I've realized tons of things about life and how I should reflect on it more rather than thinking of the superficial ones. I have a journal with me all the time and it keeps me company whenever I feel alone, lonely or just feel like writing down something. I was browsing through it earlier this morning and I couldn't believe how far I've evolved as a person. Although I'm still a kid at heart who shrieks at almost all the boy bands (especially One Direction) and cry over shallow things, I'm a few months away from turning 20 and there's no turning back. Soon enough, I'm going to start making decisions on my own and learn to act as a young adult.
My teenage dreams are nearly ending and I'm already doing my best to live each moment because this will eventually pass whether I like it or not. To all my readers who just turned 13 or perhaps in the early stage of adolescence, ENJOY IT! stay in the moment and don't do something you will regret in the future. A lot of people have told me this but I guess I never listened... I always dreamed of becoming an adult, working and enjoying the freedom that comes with it. It's part of growing up and we couldn't blame anyone for that.
I haven't decided on what I want to be in the future yet... whether I should continue blogging, become a flight attendant or whatever job fancies me. It's crazy to think that sooner or later I have to decide on that too. Sometimes I wonder if I have the jack-of-all trades syndrome or some kind of a weird disorder because all of the people my age or even younger have already decided what they want to be and are in the peak of their careers. I don't know maybe God has something better in store for me... Who knows?
We all are still waiting for our moment to come... for now, we should learn how to appreciate the smallest things and stay in the moment. If you feel like things are not running that way you planned it, remember that right now is not our time but eventually God will get tired of putting us on hold and start giving signs. We just have to be patient and be confident in whatever we do. I always keep this in mind, in fact some of the few phrases here are from my journal which I read and look at whenever I feel like giving up.
I'd love to share with you the lyrics of the song I just made but I feel like it's not publish-worthy and needs a little editing. Don't worry, in time I will with a musical score. I PROMISE!
I'd like to apologize to Fashion Blooms for the very late blog post. I was supposed to have the flower crown blogged last January but time seems to be lacking so I had to postpone it. But I hope this look makes up to it! This look is by far my favorite, everything is just perfect... from the headpiece down to the scenery. The photos turned out the way I wanted it and it's all because of my Daddy's amazing photography skills! Love you, pops.
Before I end this heart-felt post, I'd like you all to remember that you are the perfect moment. You make it happen, and do not wait for one to come on by. It is what YOU make it and make all your moments PERFECT because they are what you have. In short, do not live in the land of no and just be who you are. Go with your gut. You never know that maybe just maybe the wrong choices you make today might bring you to the right places tomorrow.

Style Inspiration: The Gypsy Queen
23 April 2014
Can we just talk about how gorgeous Vannessa Hudgens is in this bohemian/gypsy outfit at the Coachella event? I mean, not just this year's but for the past years she has attended the said event. Honestly, she's one of my guilty pleasures since God knows when. When she starred at High School Musical I've always been a fan of her bubbly and down to earth personality, I really enjoyed watching her do her craft. We haven't heard of her since Spring Break and honestly speaking I never thought she would evolve into this! I was in awe when I saw her pictures over the internet and I can truly say that she's on top of my style inspiration list.
This white on white look is going to be the biggest trend this year, I can feel it! I always wanted to try this look on but I fear that I might end up looking like I'm wearing a diaper over a tiny blouse. I guess losing a bit of my weight will help solve the problem. Hihihi
Oh this one... I think this was taken 2 years ago? and it's pretty apparent that her style is something to watch out for. I really dig the top plus the thigh necklace!
You could really tell by her actions that she has the heart of a bohemian/gypsy lady, she's free spirited and really doesn't care what people say. I guess if you want to pull off a certain style, you have to act like one too.
This is like her saying "bow down to the queen!" kidding aside, I just loooove this whole look. One thing about the bohemian/gypsy style is that it teaches you to experiment on colors and it normally doesn't go with the safe ones. "Whatever floats your boat" they say, as long as you can pull it off well, there's nothing to worry about. Just don't go on neon, neon then neutrals! A BIG NO NO.
This is my favorite look of her so far. I really love the dress plus her hair style, it suits her and she looks absolutely gorgeous. Her accessories matched well with the whole look plus the "bindi" helped too! Vannessa is not afraid to be herself which is readily apparent in her bohemian/gypsy interpretations. She's someone we all should look up too not because of her outside looks but her beautiful personality as well.
Here's a throwback article last year published by Candy Magazine: Saskia Sacro for Style Files and read about my style inspiration. And can I just add that I'm one of the Top 5 Style Files of 2013! You might want to read about that too here.

I'm Only Me When I'm With You
A lot happened this past few days and I would love to share with you the highlights for the week. The other day, Nicole and I visited our best friend in Taguig City. It feels great to hang out with them again after a long time! To be able to catch-up with each other's lives is just fun. We did tons of crazy activities in the house and one of them is fangirl over One Direction. Well, that's Saskia for you. Haha! We watched "This is Us" again after watching them for the nth time. Sang almost all their songs in the karaoke. Mary Grace and I even "converted" Nicole to the 1D fandom! That is one of the few nights I will treasure forever. Just having them beside me and forget about the stress around is what made everything dream-like. I don't how I would deal with the harsh reality of life without real friends.
My outfit for today speaks so much about friendship - colorful and varied. If not, then that's not real friendship. Friends are very important to have in life, close friends and not mere acquaintances. They are right below family, sometimes can be on level. Friends will always be there for you no matter what, the ones that truly care for you. They give the sense of belonging and assures you that you're not alone in this world. Sometimes they are the only family a person has. They cheer you up when you're sad, make you happier when you're happy or when you're just in the mood to chat about everything and nothing. Without friends, a person can feel lost. Being friendless can cause you to depression because you wouldn't have anyone to run to for help. Even family can be your best friends because you share your inner-most feelings with them having that trust it would stay there. A life without friends is like a flower without sun. The sun helps the flower to grow and show its true color, to be radiant and vibrant. Friends help you grow and make you feel expansive to enjoy life to the fullest. Friends... is a very important factor in a human beings life, cherish them and love them like you do yourself.
People often ask me "how come you have so many best friends? aren't you supposed to have only one best friend?". I thought about it too before but then isn't labeling your friends to "just friends, best friends and close friends" the same with your parent's having favoritism in the family? That is why I treat everyone equally and call them my best friends so as long as they don't betray my trust. I don't have high standards for choosing my best friend, I just like to have people around me who I can let steam off and rant about almost all the nonsense things, but in the end you know you love them and they love you back no matter what.
I don't want to make this post any lengthier than what it is, so now onto my outfit for the day... I love colors. Anything colorful makes me happy, it gives out a positive vibe and makes you radiate that appreciation for the goodness of life. Anyway, the blue cropped top I'm wearing here is from Forever 21 (kuddos to Nicole for lending me this!) I matched it with this ethnic high-waist shorts I bought from the thrift shop for 250 pesos then topped it off with my favorite wedge. What do you think of this look?

Guess Who's Back
14 April 2014
*cue Eminem's song* Guess who's back. Back Again. Sassy's back. Tell a Friend. Hahaha!
Wow can't believe it's been 2 months since the last time I checked this blog! I've been very busy with school and training that I barely have time with anything including this... but I have to admit, all the sacrifices I made is worth it in the end. We won the Pump Up The Animo 6 (an inter-collegiate cheer leading competition) and successfully represented the #TeamCLA!
Anyway, here's my comeback post for everyone! Special thanks to my Dad and Mom for bringing me to Caleruega in Batangas for this photoshoot. My parents took time to bring me to Batangas, otherwise they could have been somewhere else doing something more important than this one. I feel really special and appreciative. Thanks :)

Sammydress is a leading global online wholesale supplier of Wedding Dresses and Wedding Accessories, Special Occasion Dresses and Accessories, Casual Dresses, Women's Clothing, Cosplay Costumes, Intimate Lingerie, Men and Women's Shoes, Wigs, Fashion Jewelry, Bags and Accessories, Home & Living, Men's clothing, Children's Toys, Shoes, Lifestyle Products and many more great items. Their aim is to provide a wide range of high quality, trendy fashion clothing at factory direct prices along with highly professional customer service to our many customers all over the world.
I decided to go all out for this shoot and I wore my new favorite skirt from Sammy Dress. I like the texture of the skirt plus how it complements well with my skin. I find leopard prints easy to mix and match with, but I guess it's also agreeable that animal prints in general tend to overdo a look. I made sure this one didn't, so instead of matching it with an over the top layer I settled with a simple black bustier and a classy gold and black necklace from Sammy Dress. I topped it off with my overused black pumps from Parisian.
By the way, I'd like to thank Sammy Dress for the skirt and necklace! Honestly, you might find this overreacting but I really couldn't put into words the first time I opened the email from one of their staff and asked me to choose whatever I want from their shop! More so, when the package finally arrived and I was able to try the clothes on. Thank you so much to the people behind Sammy Dress! More collaborations to come, hopefully :)
I feel really bad for not updating this blog like it used to before, things are running quite different now and I'm still in the process of adjusting with the change. However, I promise starting this summer (and after I pass this freakin' paper I'm currently working on) things will go back to the usual! I'll start updating MORE via my Twitter and Instagram of what's happening around. I'm so so so so excited to show you my other outfit looks which I tend to spoil (you'd know if you're my Instagram follower) hahaha!
While writing this blog post I'm also thinking about how to make my blog interesting. I've been in the blogging industry for 2 years now but I still couldn't think of any way I could make my blog BETTER. Instead of just doing collaborations with online shops, I'm thinking of collaborating with fellow bloggers, photographers or friends too. I dunno, just to add a bit of fun in here I guess. What do you think, though? I've been pondering it for quite a while now, I've had a lot in mind but time seems to always be lacking.
Let's see what happens next...

Do Not Live in the Land of No
19 February 2014
Hello everyone! It's Monday. I decided to update this blog after realizing how unproductive yesterday was. Anyway, I don't want to be melancholic with my blog posts again (or maybe not aha), I just want you all to take time and appreciate this unusual fringe-on-fringe look I came up with and my new hair-do. LOL
I'm just kidding
I don't have a new hair-do nor will I ever. I get separation anxiety when it comes to my hair, to be honest, so I guess snipping it off won't be a good idea. What do you think though? Does short hair suites me? Or what hairstyle would you think will do? Tell me what you think, it might come in handy in the future!
What I'm Wearing:
Top & Shawl: Mom's Closet || Skirt: Morgan || Shoes: Parisian || Headpiece: SM Accessories
Most of you are prolly curious how I came up with my post title "Do Not Live in the Land of No", It's from a book called A Girl's Guide to Life by Katie Meier. According to the author, the "Land of No" is a place inside many girls. Each girl might have her own version of it, but the general atmosphere is one of the same. In the "Land of No," girls see themselves, but they see themselves as less than who they really are. They see themselves as incapable of doing something. They see themselves as weak, lost, powerless, boring or less than other people in different ways. (Meier, 2010) This is where insecurity comes into play. A person who is insecure lacks confidence in their own value and capability, trust in themselves or others, or has fears that a present positive state is temporary and will let them down and cause them loss or distress by "going wrong" in future. As early as now, prevent yourself from living in the "Land of No" and start trusting yourself and be confident in everything you do. :)

All Too Well: A Valentine's Day Special
9 February 2014
"And maybe we got lost in translation
Maybe I asked for too much
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece
Till you tore it all up"
"All too Well" by Taylor Swift is by far my favorite song from her latest album "Red". It for me is so lyrically accurate that you can see the story as it unfolds in your mind's eye. Since it will be Valentine's Day tomorrow it will be more apt to talk about something Love related...lest I come across as being bitter. I asked my Twitter followers this question last night, "is being single scary?" and here are the top 3 answers:
Chesca - "It isn't scary because being single saves the individual from the limitations that come along with being in a relationship."
Mijie - "Being single is not scary at all. Tested and proven. At first I also thought na scary nga or baka hindi kakayanin but in the long run, it was a self accomplishment. You realize you can do things independently and feel satisfied.. As the cliche goes - you learn to love yourself more."
Xandra - "For me? Being single is not scary. Lalo na po kung may mga kaibigan ka po na pwedeng pagtreasuran ng good memories that some people couldn't."
It is heartening to know that a lot of people find singleness a good thing. From my personal experience, I can truly say that there is such a thing as "single-blessedness". But before I arrived at that realization I had to go through a lot of emotional roller-coaster. Those trials revealed to me that my desire to be attached simply came from the fact that I am 'empty' within. Once I realized that, I set about a journey of self-discovery which brought me to the realization that I do not need "others" to complete my 'sense of self'. Once this was uncovered, peace of the heart followed naturally. All that was needed was to slowww things down just enough so that we could smell the flowers, we always pass by in the wayside, which we take for granted in our desire to get ahead! As my Daddy's wise words would say "Do not look for the right guy...be the right girl first, then the right guy will just come along." Good things come to those who wait!
To those that are currently attached, just remember that the affairs of the Heart is not only for Feb 14. My parents have been together for 25 years and they never celebrate Valentine's Day. When I asked them why, they simply retorted "every single day of our relationship together is a celebration of the Love we both share." To those that are single pringles and unattached (like moi) don't frown, be pro-active. Call up the gang, organize a pajama party or pillow nights, order your favorite pizza for everyone and rent movies (love story for relevance). Don't allow any situation to change you into someone that you are not, if you don't like the situation then change it! It is all in your power of choice....choose wisely. Trust me, it works!
I hope this post helped you in one way or another and if you have any questions regarding the topic just let me know... alright? write it down at the comment box below :)
So, what do you think of my look?
Stay tuned for my Midnight Bonanza by ML blog giveaway next week!
