FROM THE SASSY THEORY TO CHRYSALIS BY SASKIA: A LITTLE RE-INTRODUCTION

If you’ve been reading my blog since the early days, you might remember it was once called The Sassy Theory. Honestly, to this day I still don’t know what “Sassy’s Theory” was supposed to be or how I even came up with the name. All I knew back then was that I wanted the word Sassy in there because it’s my nickname.

Fast forward to the pandemic, I considered the idea of rebranding. That’s when Chrysalis by Saskia was born. The inspiration came way back in 2014 when I was out in a forest and a butterfly randomly landed on my finger. I’ll have to dig up the photo someday but in that moment it felt like a little “hello” from the universe. As someone who loves looking for signs, I took it as one and my fascination with butterflies only grew stronger from there.

According to Google, chrysalis is the protective shell where a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. For me, it felt symbolic. Chrysalis by Saskia became my “shell” a safe space where I can retreat whenever the world feels too overwhelming. My closest friends know this about me: after a full day of socializing, I almost always need to recharge. (I know, ironic, given that my work revolves around people!) But I’ve realized that this is actually my secret to a happy life allowing myself to retreat into my shell whenever I need to.

So why am I sharing this? Because in my next posts, I’ll be opening up more and sharing little pieces of “me.” Think of it as a re-introduction. I’ll be writing about the things I love: food, music, travel, my life with Migz and even the random life lessons that throws my way. Kind of like the old times, right?!
