Do Not Live in the Land of No
19 February 2014
Hello everyone! It's Monday. I decided to update this blog after realizing how unproductive yesterday was. Anyway, I don't want to be melancholic with my blog posts again (or maybe not aha), I just want you all to take time and appreciate this unusual fringe-on-fringe look I came up with and my new hair-do. LOL
I'm just kidding
I don't have a new hair-do nor will I ever. I get separation anxiety when it comes to my hair, to be honest, so I guess snipping it off won't be a good idea. What do you think though? Does short hair suites me? Or what hairstyle would you think will do? Tell me what you think, it might come in handy in the future!
What I'm Wearing:
Top & Shawl: Mom's Closet || Skirt: Morgan || Shoes: Parisian || Headpiece: SM Accessories
Most of you are prolly curious how I came up with my post title "Do Not Live in the Land of No", It's from a book called A Girl's Guide to Life by Katie Meier. According to the author, the "Land of No" is a place inside many girls. Each girl might have her own version of it, but the general atmosphere is one of the same. In the "Land of No," girls see themselves, but they see themselves as less than who they really are. They see themselves as incapable of doing something. They see themselves as weak, lost, powerless, boring or less than other people in different ways. (Meier, 2010) This is where insecurity comes into play. A person who is insecure lacks confidence in their own value and capability, trust in themselves or others, or has fears that a present positive state is temporary and will let them down and cause them loss or distress by "going wrong" in future. As early as now, prevent yourself from living in the "Land of No" and start trusting yourself and be confident in everything you do. :)
What do you think of my #OOTD?

All Too Well: A Valentine's Day Special
9 February 2014
"And maybe we got lost in translation
Maybe I asked for too much
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece
Till you tore it all up"
"All too Well" by Taylor Swift is by far my favorite song from her latest album "Red". It for me is so lyrically accurate that you can see the story as it unfolds in your mind's eye. Since it will be Valentine's Day tomorrow it will be more apt to talk about something Love related...lest I come across as being bitter. I asked my Twitter followers this question last night, "is being single scary?" and here are the top 3 answers:
Chesca - "It isn't scary because being single saves the individual from the limitations that come along with being in a relationship."
Mijie - "Being single is not scary at all. Tested and proven. At first I also thought na scary nga or baka hindi kakayanin but in the long run, it was a self accomplishment. You realize you can do things independently and feel satisfied.. As the cliche goes - you learn to love yourself more."
Xandra - "For me? Being single is not scary. Lalo na po kung may mga kaibigan ka po na pwedeng pagtreasuran ng good memories that some people couldn't."
It is heartening to know that a lot of people find singleness a good thing. From my personal experience, I can truly say that there is such a thing as "single-blessedness". But before I arrived at that realization I had to go through a lot of emotional roller-coaster. Those trials revealed to me that my desire to be attached simply came from the fact that I am 'empty' within. Once I realized that, I set about a journey of self-discovery which brought me to the realization that I do not need "others" to complete my 'sense of self'. Once this was uncovered, peace of the heart followed naturally. All that was needed was to slowww things down just enough so that we could smell the flowers, we always pass by in the wayside, which we take for granted in our desire to get ahead! As my Daddy's wise words would say "Do not look for the right guy...be the right girl first, then the right guy will just come along." Good things come to those who wait!
To those that are currently attached, just remember that the affairs of the Heart is not only for Feb 14. My parents have been together for 25 years and they never celebrate Valentine's Day. When I asked them why, they simply retorted "every single day of our relationship together is a celebration of the Love we both share." To those that are single pringles and unattached (like moi) don't frown, be pro-active. Call up the gang, organize a pajama party or pillow nights, order your favorite pizza for everyone and rent movies (love story for relevance). Don't allow any situation to change you into someone that you are not, if you don't like the situation then change it! It is all in your power of choice....choose wisely. Trust me, it works!
I hope this post helped you in one way or another and if you have any questions regarding the topic just let me know... alright? write it down at the comment box below :)
So, what do you think of my look?
Stay tuned for my Midnight Bonanza by ML blog giveaway next week!

Oh, Pretty Woman
30 January 2014
I remember back when I was young, whenever I hear the song Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison over the radio I always strut along to its beat and act like the woman being pertained to in the song. Crazy. Reminiscing those times literally makes me laugh out loud but back then I'd take it as a serious thing. I'll rummage my Mom's closet and look for an outfit that fancies me even if its twice my size and match it with 2-3 inch heels. Look at the mirror and pretend to be in a music video and whatnot. Those were the days... I can't believe its been so long!
I've mentioned earlier that I used to ransack my Mom's closet and quite frankly, I still do now! Anyway, the brown polka dot dress I'm wearing is from her. It was a gift from my Dad back when they're still dating. They told me that this dress was an "in" thing in the 90s and I'm glad my Mom was able to preserve it after so many years. I sure am going to do the same, maybe I can pass it down to the future generation as well.
Ironically, this is (almost) the same dress Julia Roberts wore in her movie Pretty Woman. If you haven't watched or clearly understood the message of the movie; it's a story about social standing, respect to others and change. It's a must watch for everyone!

The bottom line of this post is, everyone should take time and appreciate vintage fashion. Some people might find it "baduy" and too old fashioned but if you come to think about it, that's where real fashion comes from. The Attic Bazaar: Where Decades Collide an event organized by The Business Management Society is the perfect place to reminisce the good old days. Little by little the past is making a comeback. We see how old inspires new. The ingenuity of people drives them to recreate something from the past and make it entirely their own. Old fads are continually being revamped to suit the needs and tastes of society today. Iconic elements in fashion, food, and entertainment from various eras are being revived and reworked with modern touches to produce something original, yet still reminiscent of the past. Through this bazaar, we bring you the throwback of the century.
With its modern vintage theme, the Attic Bazaar is a place where people can revisit the past. With over a hundred concessionaires, one will truly be able to have a unique shopping experience. It’s definitely a treasure trove where you’ll be able to buy great finds. There will also be a series of events such as fashion shows, live performances, and many more that are in line with the “old meets new" concept.
The Attic Bazaar will be coming your way only at the SMX Convention Center Hall 3, this February 22 to 23, from 12nn to 10pm. Tickets are priced at low price of Php 50! So what are you waiting for? Join us as we rewrite history!
From the organizers of Soleil, Seoularis, and Times Square Fashion Bazaar, now on its 28th year, the Business Management Society of De La Salle University presents to you: “The Attic Bazaar: Where Decades Collide”.
Baby, It's Cold Outside
24 January 2014
I really can't stay
Baby, it's cold outside
I've got to go 'way
I'll say this for the first time ever... totes loving the weather here in the Philippines. I really hope it stays like this all year long so I can finally wear my trench coats and boots outdoor without getting weird stares from strangers.
I decided to take advantage of the cold weather and pulled out my best "chill" outfit in the closet and ended up with this look: cream-colored long sleeves, trendy skirt matched with a brown Ugg boots. Then I topped it off with a pearl necklace and fringe bag. Some people thinks that wearing skirts, shorts or dresses in a cold weather is inappropriate, well, I think not. Just because it's getting cold outside means that you can't wear skirts or dresses anymore. Always remember; it's just a matter of balancing and styling. If you think your bottoms is too short and scared of how cold your legs are going to get, wear a thicker top or boots to avoid freezing. Believe me, it works!
What do you think of my look?
Hey everyone! I'm baaaack! I apologize for being on blog hiatus AGAIN. I'm guessing all of you are already used (or maybe even sick) of my inconsistencies but hopefully it won't stop you from visiting the blog. Apparently, I'm still in the process of getting used to juggle both blogging and schooling at the same time and quite frankly, it's not easy. However, like what I've mentioned in my earlier posts 'there's no room for giving up!' blogging is my first love and I'll never leave this for anything. Believe me, TST is never nearing the end of the line, well, it's just getting started... ;)
I just want to say thank you to those who continue on supporting my blog and visits it daily. I appreciate it so much! and to those who keeps tweeting and messaging me for a blog update... here it is! Expect that I'll update this once or twice a week. Also, a huge shout-out to Fashion Blooms & Mart of China for the packages I received this year. I'll blog about them as soon as possible.
Anyway, I have a lot in store for everyone this 2014 and I can't wait to unravel them one by one very soon. By the way, to those who joined my DRESSALE GIVEAWAY or planning to join, I'm going to hold it for a while... someone tweeted me a link directing to Dressale reviews and most of them, if not all comments was negative. I did my own investigation and frankly, I was stunned at what I discovered. Honestly, as I'm writing this I just want to delete the giveaway post and forget about it. But of course, I can't do that since it's partly my fault. I already contacted the person who approached me to host the giveaway and I'm still waiting for her reply. I just really want to confirm the issue before making the move. No worries though! I still have A LOT of giveaways coming up ;) just wait.

Trip to the North: Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, Burgos, locos Norte
3 January 2014
We're finally in Ilocos Norte after 13 hours! We stayed at one of Norte's famous pensionne house "Balay da Blas". Balay da Blas Pensionne House was built as a residence for the Blas family. It was designed as a home first, which can be seen in its decor as they were chosen with care to create an atmosphere that is quaint, charming and warm. Then as Laoag City enjoyed an influx of tourists and business travelers, the decision was eventually made to open its doors to "guests". (for more info, click here)
Our Mom woke us up at 6 AM for breakfast. I wish I had more time to sleep though but I had no choice, we have yet to explore Ilocos Norte.
We ate a wholesome breakfast before we started our day, it kicks our metabolism into high gear, fueling our bodies and our minds for the long day of adventure ahead of us. One of the things I want to experience in Ilocos is to taste the local dishes like bagnet, longganisa and poki-poki.
Sitting atop this hill with the commanding view of the West Philippine Sea is the essential Lighthouse of Cape Bojeador. These majestic creation of man has served countless sailors from the days of the Galleons and currently the mega oil tankers. They serve as the beacon of light that seafarers use as a guide to avoid the dangerous shoals of the Cape in Burgos, Ilocos Norte.
These plants on the foreground are the famous dragon fruit of Ilocos Norte
A few months ago when one of my sponsors asked me to choose anything from their shop, these pants with bows at the sides caught my attention. It's out of my usual style (obviously) but it won't hurt to give it a shot, right? Anyway, a huge thanks to Mart Of China for ticking another box on my wish list.
Check Mart of China now if you want to get your hands on these awesome pair of pants before they run-out!
Say hello to my new kicks! Well, what can I say "Secret Santa" definitely knows my taste. Thank you whoever you are :)

Before I end this post, here's a candid shot of my gang and I at the shoreline fronting Cape Bojeador. Comments?
