OH JONI
7 October 2016
It's half past midnight and Joni Mitchell is on shuffle. How is that my creative juices flow well at this ungodly hour? I should probably take advantage of this moment anyway since this doesn't happen a lot...
Oh Joni... it would be such an understatement when I say Joni Mitchell made such a huge impact in my life. When I was a little girl, our Dad would play her songs in the car during road trips and most of the time I'd either sleep through the whole album or ask Dad to skip it to the next artist. It wasn't until I'm all grown up that I started appreciating her music. Choosing a "favorite" from her album is extremely difficult because each and every song has a unique element to it but if you ask me what song made me the most emotional, it's definitely "A Case of You".
"Go to him. Stay with him if you can. But be prepared to bleed". If you listen to the song, this line really struck me the most. Joni is giving us a warning that love comes with getting hurt and we should always be prepared for it. When we love someone, there is no guarantee that we won't get hurt; in fact, the people we love the most are the ones that will cause us the most pain. One of the best, but often scariest feelings of being in love is feeling so vulnerable and knowing how much that person could hurt us, but we can't go through a relationship and worry the entire time that we are going to get hurt. In hindsight, its almost inevitable even if its on a small scale. That's why it is very important to have a positive mindset and treat the person we're in a relationship with the way we want to be treated. Although, this may not entirely work to other people but at least you know in your heart that you're doing the right thing. Let's just leave it to their conscience.
Love talk aside, let's head on to my outfit for today. Aside from Joni's incredible music, I also admire her fashion sense. One of the reasons why I got so engrossed in her is because her style is very bohemian. So, here I am channeling my inner Joni Mitchell with a long dress from ZARA and round daisy glasses from ALDO. What do you think of this Joni inspired look?

ON TAKING RISKS
22 June 2016
As a kid, I remember feeling very uncomfortable with crushes or boyfriends whenever someone would casually bring it up. I even swore to myself that I wouldn't date anyone, as crazy as its sounds but I'm sure some you can relate to me. Needless to say, just a mere mention of the term "boy" creeps me out way before I even got the chance to interact with one outside my family. So, first day of 6th grade came and I had a seat mate named Kurt. As we started talking, my heart would never be the same. It was my first awkward crush (and first heart break too), little did I know then that it was only the beginning of so many more. As usual Kurt ended up liking someone else in my class. The fact that I still took the risk and consider my feelings for him, even though I know my heart would be in jeopardy, was already a big deal for me.
So if you're considering buying low hanging Harem Pants in the future, here's what you need to remember: it's always recommended that the pants should be emphasized so the top should be tucked inside the pants. Remember to keep the clothing above simple as possible to provide the background for the accent, which are the pants. If your pants are dark go for a colorful top to liven the outfit up like how I did with mine, and always keep the leg down. It’s not anymore out of place if you see someone wearing them out in public today. It's better to set the trend than follow one. Of course you'll catch a lot of glances but that's the whole point, isn't it?

Still Waiting
25 April 2014
I don't know what got into me but I composed a song last night... After reading an article online I've realized tons of things about life and how I should reflect on it more rather than thinking of the superficial ones. I have a journal with me all the time and it keeps me company whenever I feel alone, lonely or just feel like writing down something. I was browsing through it earlier this morning and I couldn't believe how far I've evolved as a person. Although I'm still a kid at heart who shrieks at almost all the boy bands (especially One Direction) and cry over shallow things, I'm a few months away from turning 20 and there's no turning back. Soon enough, I'm going to start making decisions on my own and learn to act as a young adult.
My teenage dreams are nearly ending and I'm already doing my best to live each moment because this will eventually pass whether I like it or not. To all my readers who just turned 13 or perhaps in the early stage of adolescence, ENJOY IT! stay in the moment and don't do something you will regret in the future. A lot of people have told me this but I guess I never listened... I always dreamed of becoming an adult, working and enjoying the freedom that comes with it. It's part of growing up and we couldn't blame anyone for that.
I haven't decided on what I want to be in the future yet... whether I should continue blogging, become a flight attendant or whatever job fancies me. It's crazy to think that sooner or later I have to decide on that too. Sometimes I wonder if I have the jack-of-all trades syndrome or some kind of a weird disorder because all of the people my age or even younger have already decided what they want to be and are in the peak of their careers. I don't know maybe God has something better in store for me... Who knows?
We all are still waiting for our moment to come... for now, we should learn how to appreciate the smallest things and stay in the moment. If you feel like things are not running that way you planned it, remember that right now is not our time but eventually God will get tired of putting us on hold and start giving signs. We just have to be patient and be confident in whatever we do. I always keep this in mind, in fact some of the few phrases here are from my journal which I read and look at whenever I feel like giving up.
I'd love to share with you the lyrics of the song I just made but I feel like it's not publish-worthy and needs a little editing. Don't worry, in time I will with a musical score. I PROMISE!
I'd like to apologize to Fashion Blooms for the very late blog post. I was supposed to have the flower crown blogged last January but time seems to be lacking so I had to postpone it. But I hope this look makes up to it! This look is by far my favorite, everything is just perfect... from the headpiece down to the scenery. The photos turned out the way I wanted it and it's all because of my Daddy's amazing photography skills! Love you, pops.
Before I end this heart-felt post, I'd like you all to remember that you are the perfect moment. You make it happen, and do not wait for one to come on by. It is what YOU make it and make all your moments PERFECT because they are what you have. In short, do not live in the land of no and just be who you are. Go with your gut. You never know that maybe just maybe the wrong choices you make today might bring you to the right places tomorrow.
Stay in the moment & Stay Sassy!
Do Not Live in the Land of No
19 February 2014
Hello everyone! It's Monday. I decided to update this blog after realizing how unproductive yesterday was. Anyway, I don't want to be melancholic with my blog posts again (or maybe not aha), I just want you all to take time and appreciate this unusual fringe-on-fringe look I came up with and my new hair-do. LOL
I'm just kidding
I don't have a new hair-do nor will I ever. I get separation anxiety when it comes to my hair, to be honest, so I guess snipping it off won't be a good idea. What do you think though? Does short hair suites me? Or what hairstyle would you think will do? Tell me what you think, it might come in handy in the future!

Most of you are prolly curious how I came up with my post title "Do Not Live in the Land of No", It's from a book called A Girl's Guide to Life by Katie Meier. According to the author, the "Land of No" is a place inside many girls. Each girl might have her own version of it, but the general atmosphere is one of the same. In the "Land of No," girls see themselves, but they see themselves as less than who they really are. They see themselves as incapable of doing something. They see themselves as weak, lost, powerless, boring or less than other people in different ways. (Meier, 2010) This is where insecurity comes into play. A person who is insecure lacks confidence in their own value and capability, trust in themselves or others, or has fears that a present positive state is temporary and will let them down and cause them loss or distress by "going wrong" in future. As early as now, prevent yourself from living in the "Land of No" and start trusting yourself and be confident in everything you do. :)

13 December 2013
I'm so happy! Hell week is finally over for me. All those sleepless nights and stress finally paid off - I thank God for getting me through this week. Now it's time to focus and get back to my normal routine. That includes: blogging and taking pictures again! Yay!
An anonymous asker asked me this morning; "why do people enjoy raining on my parade rather than be happy for me?" Here's what I can say, some people's lives are so screwed, when they see the opportunity to downsize your accomplishments it makes them feel better. One reason could be, people are jealous and envious when they see others who don't have to struggle living it up or being lavished with opportunities that they can't have. They do all the nasty things they could think of to make you feel miserable. The solution? just take pride that you are doing something they don't have the guts to do. Eventually they'll realize ruining your life won't make them any better. Agree? Share your thoughts in the comment box below!
Now onto my outfit for the day...
I'm inspired yet again to channel out my inner bohemian to school. A big thank you to my newest international sponsor - Mart of China for the loose top and tribal print leggings
Topped off this whole bohemian ensemble by wearing my all-time favorite boots!
